San Antonio indie-soul ensemble, fishermen, will perform for their highly anticipated first official EP release at Sam's Burger Joint on September 6 with some help from local heavy hitters, The Last Nighters and up-and-coming starlets, Octahedron.  Despite only releasing five songs to date, the group has managed to garner the respect and attention of the local and regional music community.  Blending contemporary indie aesthetic with classic soul and rock, fishermen boast both lofty and eclectic influences, drawing from timeless giants like Radiohead, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen and Marvin Gaye.  They have been described as “Highly inventive and dreamy” by Hector Saldana of The San Antonio Express-News and were referred to as “one of SA’s best live sets” by Matthew Steib of the San Antonio Current.  The release will include the group’s dual EPs titled Future Wives and Smart Kids led by their two singles, “Fire Me Up” and “All My Love.”
