Steady Legend is a reggae/rock/ska/soul/swing band from Austin, Texas. Founded by lead singer Debora Otero and guitarist Michael Mancuso in 2011 through a chance Craigslist ad, the band’s chemistry is evident every time they hit the stage. Backed by a three piece horn section, Steady Legend brings a stylish, hip vibe with an upbeat sound that keeps crowds on their feet. “When I met Deb, we started out with an acoustic guitar and a few lyrics scribbled down in a notebook.” Says guitarist Michael Mancuso. “She responded to a Craigslist ad I posted searching for horn players. I’m a former trombone player and I had some horn arrangements I wanted to turn into songs to start an instrumental group. But that all changed when I met Deb. From the moment we met we worked so well together. We sang together effortlessly, which made writing songs easy. All we want to do is write cool songs, make people dance, and most of all have fun. Now we have our first album and we’re excited to see what the future holds.” Releasing their heavy hitting self-titled debut album in March 2015, the record takes listeners on a journey though melodic horn features, chant choruses, epic guitar solos, catchy vocal riffs, and everything in between. From the upbeat soul sound of “No Troubles” to the mysterious reggae vibes of “Mirrors” to the the catchy swing/ska finale of “The Best For Last”, one thing is certain - the future is bright for this young group.
