Eclectic Tuba is a "Tubatronica/Spacefunk/Jam" group from Birmingham AL., recently relocated to Nashville, TN. Known for journeying down untraveled, undiscovered, and unheard of routes with their music, they take their audience on an exploratory and blissful eye and ear opening trip through the cosmos, opening doors to new dimensions of sounds and universes which have yet to be explored by other bands. Etuba's sound is made up of a perfect mix of soaring saxophone solos, funky tuba loops, ripping synthesizers, world percussion explosions, star dusted and trailing keyboard rifts and jams, and a sick, full, rhythm section, with off the hook beats and right on rhythms. To entice their crowds even more, Etuba has a spectacular light show, which adds to leaving them longing for more and wishing for the show to never end! Etuba's newest album, "Intergalactic Domination", features; Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips, Amanda Palmer of The Grand Theft Orchestra, Mike St. Clair of Polyphonic Spree, and Jake Ingalls of The Flaming Lips and Space Face. It is currently on sale on iTunes, Spotify, etc., and was released on October 29th, 2013, along with another album titled, "Octubafreak", at an Album Release show at the awesome Iron City in Birmingham, AL. Etuba also released a new FREE EP, late last year, titled, "Dr. Lanyon's Narrative!" Etuba has performed with and opened for, The Flaming Lips, Amanda Palmer and The Grand Theft Orchestra, Linear Downfall, Stardeath and The White Dwarfs, HOTT MT, Maps and Atlases, The Handsome Devil, Fishbone, & Opposite Box. Eclectic Tuba was invited to perform and give a clinic on Music Entrepreneurship and Music Technology at The Great Plains Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference in 2012 and since then have been playing at universities across the United States to show students the opportunities they have in front of them, with their instruments, and within the music industry, that is right there waiting for them. Also in 2012, They won 3rd place in The Road to Bonaroo Contest, held by Sonicbids, resulting in catching the eye of a few promoters, due to their popularity, which sent them on tour since. Matt also has sheet music published with PotenzaMusic.com. You can find a full bio, current info, and past and present tour dates on their website!
