SEATED SHOW BUT SEATING NOT GUARANTEED WITHOUT RESERVED BOOTH. -- BOOTHS DO NOT INCLUDE ADMISSION.-- Jimmy Spacek grew up on the south side of San Antonio, Texas. The south side also gave birth to other great Texas musicians like Doug Sahm, Augie Meyers and Randy Garibay, to name a few. These artists all helped shape Jimmy's playing style. During the '60s and while in his early teens, Jimmy was also drawn to guitar legends Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and especially the unusual playing of Jimi Hendrix. He notes that "the feedback and sound of Hendrix's "Foxy Lady" was the reason I picked up a guitar. At the age of 14, he was playing Foxy Lady and other songs from Hendrix, The Doors, Sir Douglas Quintet, Cream and The Animals with high school mates in a band called The Undecided Mynd. Shortly after those high school days, Jimmy was drafted into the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War where he found musical relief by jamming with guys he met from all over the country. After his discharge from the Army, Jimmy returned to Texas and joined up with the Texas Homegrown Band playing Southern style progressive roots country and rock and roll all over Texas, up to Canada, down to Florida and all points in between. He now calls Adkins, Texas, home and plays his own style of Texas blues' a fusion of jazz, blues and rock.
